PRODUCTION DIRECTORY

Film Nevada’s crew and services directory is the number one resource used by industry professionals filming in Nevada. If you are a Nevada crew member or business serving the film industry, the directory is the best tool to get your name to productions filming in Nevada.

Requirements to List

  1. Must be a Nevada resident or a business with a physical location in Nevada. Individuals are required to upload a Nevada driver’s license to verify residency. Companies are required to upload a Nevada business license.
  2. Must have at least 1 paid, professional credit for each category selected. Documentation (such as a pay stub or call sheet) may be requested.

A maximum of 4 categories can be selected for each listing. For a complete list of categories available, click here. Listings automatically expire after 1 year of user inactivity. After expiration, users can log in and renew their listing at any time.

Listings can include a profile picture; description of experience, skills or services offered; list of credits; an uploaded resume; and links for websites, video reels or social media. Be sure to log in to update your credits often – on a yearly basis at minimum. This is your chance to pitch yourself to the productions looking to hire!

Users control the privacy of their information. Fields such as address, phone number and email can be individually selected to be held private. Be sure to include at least 1 field as publicly visible so potential productions can reach you.

Prior to registering, prepare the elements for your listing. The process usually takes around 15 minutes to complete. The application will time out after a period of inactivity, ending the session and requiring you to start the process from the beginning. After submission, Film Nevada will review the listing and may ask for additional information before approving.

To ensure the Nevada Production Directory remains a trustworthy and accurate source of information, applicants who fail to meet the above prerequisites or are unable to provide backup information to verify their listing will not have their listing approved.  Film Nevada reserves the right to refuse to list an applicant or to remove a listing at any time.  If you have questions, please contact us.

How to list your property

Before submitting your location, please review the requirements and tips below. For examples of a complete listing, including the types of photos to submit, view these sample galleries for houses and businesses.

  • Include a minimum of 5-8 images that showcase the property. The goal is to give filmmakers a sense of the whole property – landscape, wide-angle shots work well; avoid close-ups.
  • Images should be clear, well-lit, and feature various aspects of the property – exterior, interior, different rooms, unique features, etc.
  • Images should not include people, pets, or anything inappropriate in nature. Small-resolution (thumbnails) or photos of photos will not be accepted. Acceptable file types include jpeg, heic, or png files.
  • Include a clear description of your property. Identify what spaces are available for filming. Aspects relevant to filmmakers, such as parking availability, property access, or power access, including any usage restrictions.
I submitted my location and a production wants to film! Now what?

Once internally reviewed and approved, your property will be added to our locations database. Changes to your listing can be made by Film Nevada staff. Contact us for help.

Doing business with film, television and other productions can become very involved. There are many factors to be considered, including permitting, parking, safety, liability, location fees and contracts. Initial contact is usually made by a location manager hired by the production company and they may come to scout your property before deciding to film there.

Here are some questions to consider when allowing filming on your property:

What type of production is it?
What is the proposed filming activity?
What is the name of the production company and title of production?
Who is the contact person at the production company?
How many shoot days? Shoot hours? Prep or wrap days?
How many crew and cast members?
How many and what types of vehicles will need to park nearby?
Do they have liability insurance?

These questions should be answered in writing in the form of a location agreement between the production and the property owner.

What should I charge as a location fee?

The location fee is negotiated between you and the production. There are several factors that can determine what you can charge as location fees. You should consider the costs of utilities, extra staffing/security needed, and any lost business if you are a business owner.
Productions can range from low budget indie films to popular network TV series or large studio features. We recommend developing a sliding fee scale that takes into consideration varying crew sizes and production budgets.
